Messaging and Channels on Infrastructure You Control
Direct messages, group chats, broadcast channels and threads for your whole organization. Separate workspaces for each team. All of it on servers you host.
Overview
One Application for Every Conversation
Sover brings an organization’s conversations into one application: one-to-one messages and group chats for working together, broadcast channels for announcements, and threaded replies that keep a discussion attached to its message.
Workspaces organize people and conversations around a department, project or other shared purpose, and one person can belong to several. Sover is user-hosted, with the Sover Private Cloud included, so message history stays on infrastructure you control.
Capabilities
What People Can Do in Sover
-
Direct and Group Chats
One-to-one messages and group chats with many participants, each group with its own name, avatar and member controls.
-
Broadcast Channels
Broadcast-only channels for announcements, with optional comments that the channel owner enables and moderates.
-
Threaded Replies
Reply to a message in a thread that keeps the discussion attached to it, with its own read status, so the main chat stays clear.
-
Files and Media
Share documents, images and video in any chat, with in-app previews for supported formats.
-
Polls and Reactions
Single-choice or multiple-choice polls with one vote per person, and emoji reactions on messages.
-
Secret Chats
End-to-end encrypted secret chats for sensitive private conversations.

AI Agents
AI Agents in Your Chats and Channels
The AI models and agents you approve connect through MCP or the Sover REST API and take part in chats and channels as participants, under the same security policy as the people there.
-
Monitoring and Automated Responses
An agent follows the chats it is added to, answers routine questions at once and leaves the rest to the right person.
-
Summaries and Analysis
Agents read the history they are permitted to see and turn long threads into summaries, trends and open questions.
-
Moderation and Audit
Appointed a chat administrator, an agent deletes messages that break your rules, removes members and exports the record for audit review.
-
Channel News Posting
Agents publish news, reports and alerts to broadcast channels on a schedule, or as soon as a source system has something new.
How It Works
Workspaces Keep Teams Apart, in One App
A workspace is a collaboration boundary inside your Sover environment: its own members, chats and channels.
-
One person can belong to several workspaces and move between them in the same app, so a department, a project and a working group each keep their own chat list.
-
Each workspace has its own membership, with owner, administrator and member roles, and its own name, avatar and description.
-
A workspace-wide broadcast channel is visible to every member, while each group carries the conversation of its own participants.
-
A workspace organizes collaboration within one deployment; it is not a separate instance. Independently operated instances talk to each other through federation, under agreed policies.
Included
What Is Included, and Where the Limits Are
Included
-
Message types. Text, files, images, voice messages, video messages, polls, stickers and animated GIFs.
-
Formatting. Bold, italic, strikethrough, code blocks and quotes, and spoilers that hide content until opened.
-
Editing and deletion. Messages can be edited and deleted after they are sent.
-
Search. Full-text search across messages, threads and files.
-
Translation. Built-in message translation on supported clients.
-
Media formats. JPEG, PNG, GIF and WEBP images, MP3, AAC and WAV audio, and H.264 and VP9 video; some clients support fewer formats.
Stated Limits
-
Deletion is not erasure. Message cleanup is separate from audit and retention, so deleting a message does not guarantee its removal from every system or backup.
-
Retention is confirmed per deployment. Messages, attachments, backups and audit logs follow different retention rules, confirmed for your release and deployment.
-
Search varies by mode. The search experience depends on the client and the conversation type; secret chats do not offer every search function.
-
Uploads and previews. Upload limits and preview behavior depend on the deployment and the client; check large files and specialist formats during evaluation.
-
Translation needs language packs. Confirm the languages and clients your users need during evaluation.
-
Secret chats are separate. Reactions are not available in secret chats, and the end-to-end claim covers secret chats, not every conversation.

What kinds of messages can I send in Sover?
Sover supports text, files, images, voice messages, video messages, polls, stickers, and animated GIFs. You can use direct conversations, group chats, and broadcast channels for different kinds of communication.
What is the difference between a group and a channel?
A group supports conversation among its participants. A broadcast channel is suited to announcements, with optional comments controlled by the channel owner.
Can I organize replies into threads?
Yes. Threaded replies keep a discussion attached to the original message, helping participants follow a specific topic without mixing every reply into the main conversation.
Can I belong to more than one workspace?
Yes. Sover supports membership in multiple workspaces, so a person can participate in different teams or projects within the environment.
Can I share documents and media in a conversation?
Yes. Sover supports file and media sharing with in-app previews for supported formats. Upload limits and preview behavior depend on the deployment and client, so check large-file and specialist-format requirements during evaluation.
Does Sover offer end-to-end encryption?
Yes. Sover offers end-to-end encrypted secret chats for sensitive private conversations. Standard chats have a different security model, including transport, at-rest, and payload-encryption controls; the secret-chat claim should not be extended to every conversation or integration.
